Thai defense minister to inspect T-90 tanks - report

Thailand’s Defence Minister Prawit Wongsuwon will inspect T-90 tanks when he visits Russia on Feb. 23-24, the Bangkok Post reported on its website.

Prawit, who earlier denied the army's plan to buy tanks, admitted he was invited to see the Russian model, according to the paper.

When asked about Thailand’s plans to buy the Russian tanks, Thai Army spokesman Col Winthai Suvaree told the paper that the army's procurement panel will consider all possible options before making a decision based on cost-effectiveness and transparency.
