Journey to Birobidzhan, Capital of the Jewish Autonomous Oblast


Visit to the Russian Far East, one of the most unknown regions with its peculiar and unique history. The destination point is Birobidzhan, capital of Jewish Autonomous Region which was created during the 1920's as a "new home" for Russian Jews. The city has lost most of its Jewish population since 1990, when the Soviet government allowed the Jews to leave to Israel. But city retains the features of the Jewish culture.
