European champion Elizaveta Tuktamysheva has become the first Russian figure skater in the history of the World Championships to perform the most difficult jump in women's figure skating – a triple axel.

Tuktamysheva performed a pure triple axel, and made no mistakes in triple lutz and a cascade of two triple toe loops during the short program at the World Championships in Shanghai on March 26.

The skater scored 77.62 points for the performance, making it the third-greatest result in the history of women's figure skating.
