China-led bank invited to finance projects in the Russian Far East.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has invited the China-led Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank  (AIIB) to finance infrastructure projects in the Russian Far East, Sputnik News reports.

“We can offer a number of projects: railway system expansion, developing infrastructure along the Northern Sea Route and in special economic zones of the Russian Far East,” Putin told AIIB President Jin Liqun on May 18, according to the report.

Russia is third largest stakeholder in the China-led bank.
