RBTH wins third Silver Archer award

Russia Beyond the Headlines has been awarded a 2014 Silver Archer-USA award in the category of communications. The award, which will be presented Jan. 31 at a ceremony at the National Press Club in Washington, DC, recognizes RBTH’s contribution to improving awareness of Russia among the American public.

"We are honored to receive for the third time this award in recognition of our efforts to improve knowledge of Russia among the American audience," said Olga Ivanova, RBTH Deputy Publisher for marketing, new projects development and international network.

The Silver Archer-USA awards are presented in five categories: history and heritage; culture and education; business, technology and innovation; communications and sport. Other winners this year include Dmitry Petrov, for his biography of John F. Kennedy, the Russian Puppet Theater Kholkoloma, Vladimir Cherpanov and his initiative I’m Siberian and the Road to Sochi project. Initiatives were judged on the project’s humanitarian significance and potential to develop relations between Russia and the United States. 

The Silver Archer awards for public relations have been presented in Russia since 1997, and the project began presenting the Silver Archer USA awards in 2011. According to the project’s website, the objective of the Silver Archer USA awards is to highlight projects that expand intergovernmental, cultural, economic and social ties, aimed at furthering Russia's integration into the global communication space.
