The law enforcement agencies should assess the security of vacations for Russian tourists in foreign countries, head of the Russian Federal Tourism Agency Oleg Safonov told Interfax, commenting on the initiative forwarded by the Communist lawmakers in the State Duma to stop air traffic with Turkey and Tunisia.
"Russia has law enforcement agencies which should assess the security of the stay of our tourists in other countries and should take appropriate decisions if necessary. Our task is to fulfill these decisions," Safonov said.
The State Duma lawmakers from the Communist Party of Russia have sent a letter to President Vladimir Putin with the proposal to temporarily ban flights by Russians to Turkey and Tunisia, because these countries are dangerous due to the ISIL presence there, the Izvestia newspaper reported on Thursday. The information that several members of the Federation Council supported this initiative was also reported in the media.
