Top city

Krasnodar tops the list of Russia's most business-friendly cities, according to a report published in the 28 May edition of Forbes Russia.
The other top five cities, according to the ITAR-TASS news agency, are Kazan, Samara, Yekaterinburg and Novosibirsk. Krasnodar also topped the poll in 2008, the first year of the Forbes report.

Forbes experts studied business conditions in Russia's 30 biggest cities, excluding Moscow, Saint-Petersburg and capitals of the North Caucasus republics. They used six assessment criteria: business environment, individual purchasing power, crisis resilience, social characteristics, infrastructure and business friendliness.

According to the agency, the top cities have diversified economies and offer level playing fields for all types of business.
