The exhibit features both paintings and sculpture that represent different styles and mediums, ranging from representational works to abstract forms by the Russian artists from five countries.
It's a tribute to the great contribution of the first International art project led by Serge Diaghilev in promoting Russian culture worldwide.
The exhibit runs in the "Russkoe Zarubezhje" (Solzhenitsyn Russian Emigration House) November 16-27, 2009, with an opening reception on November 18, 2009 at 6 p.m. at 2 Nizhnjaaj Radishevskaja street, Moscow, Russia.
Inspired by Russia is an art project of seven exiting Russian artists - Natalia Vetrova (Canada), Galina Lopatina (Russia), Serguei Zlenko (Finland), Luba Sterlikova (USA), Volodia Popov (France), Vladimir Fomichev, (Russia) and Evgeny Vereshchagin (Russia). They represent a new generation of artists, all Russian by birth but with a universal mentality. Their works are a fusion of Russian tradition and Western art concepts. At the same time each artist has a unique original style. They have exhibited their works worldwide, both in galleries and museums.
The Inspired by Russia art project was created in 2008 with the inaugural art exhibits at the Embassy of Russia in the US and the Russian Cultural Centre in Washington, DC. In September 2009 the art project was invited to represent Russian art at the 8th International Art week in Paris. The exhibits received great reviews both from press and public.
Inspired by Russia is a dynamic art project with an intensive schedule of upcoming art exhibits. The events include art shows in Ukraine, Canada, Tanzania, Argentina, Finland and India with more pending.
