Third Foreign View Photo Contest

The Boris Yeltsin Presidential Library opened the III International Photo Contest “Foreign View”. To take part in the contest the participants should submit their photographs to the Library’s website. Photos taken by foreigners in Russia and those taken by Russians abroad are accepted. A part of the photographs, traditionally, will be included into the Presidential Library’s electronic holdings.


This year’s contest motto is “The state yesterday, today and tomorrow.” There will be eight nominations: «Countries and Faces», «Peoples and Traditions», «Interaction of Cultures», «Modern Technologies», «From the Depths of History», «Series Photo Contest». Since this year will launch the cross-culture Year of Germany in Russia and Russia in Germany, the contest has included a special nomination «Germany through the eyes of Russians, Russia through the eyes of Germans». There also has been created a nomination for the photographs, taken by specialists of the Presidential Library.


To participate in the photo contest one has to register on the Presidential Library’s website www.prlib.ru and upload photographs using a special form.  The deadline for the submission of the photographs is October 9, 2012. Summing up of the contest’s results and the awarding ceremony will take place in November 2012.

The first “Foreign View” International Photo Contestwas organized by the Presidential Library in 2010. In two years it has brought together almost 30 participants from nearly 30 states - Russia, the countries of near and far abroad.


Partners of the photo contest are Saint-Petersburg State University and Russian Union of Tourist Industry.
