Interra International Innovation Forum to be held in Novosibirsk

The fourth annual Interra forum will be held in Novosibirsk on Sept. 14-15.

The Interra international innovation forum is one of the biggest events in Russia for learning about the latest developments in innovation. The fourth annual Interra forum will be held in Novosibirsk on Sept. 14-15.

Each year, nearly 2,000 participants gather in Novosibirsk from across Russia and the world. Many parts of the forum are also open to the public, which in 2011 brought the total attendance to 5,000.

The theme of Interra 2012 is “Innovations for life.” Participants in the forum will focus on innovative concepts and ideas that can improve the standard of living.

The overall theme is divided into smaller themes, including “Territory of innovations,” which will focus on the state’s role in developing innovation; “New economy,” which will address the problems of cluster interaction; and “City for life,” which includes issues of urban planning.

Preparations for the forum began in April and will continue throughout the summer. During the preparation period, a crowd-sourcing project is being conducted to find solutions for improving Novosibirsk. The best ideas will be presented during the forum.
