Russian Foreign Ministry urges Russians to refrain from traveling to Syria

The Russian Foreign Ministry has urged Russian citizens to refrain from traveling to Syria amid the current military-political tensions in that Middle East country.

"In view of the extreme tensions in Syria and continuing armed clashes in different parts of the country between government forces and the armed opposition, the Russian Foreign Ministry again urges Russian citizens to refrain from traveling to Syria," the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Tuesday. Aeroflot, Russia's national airline, will suspend flights from Moscow to Damascus and back to Moscow starting August 6, the Foreign Ministry said.
