Wrestler Alan Khugaev brought Russia its sixth gold medal of the London Olympics on Monday, beating Egypt’s Karam Mohamed Gaber Ebrahim in the final of the men’s 84 kilogram Greco-Roman wrestling.
Khugaev beat Ebrahim 2-0 to take Russia’s second wrestling gold of the Olympics after Roman Vlasov won the 74 kilogram category Sunday.
The bronze medals went to Poland’s Damian Janikowski, who beat his French opponent Melonin Noumonvi 3-0, and to Kazakhstan’s Danyal Gajiyev, who gave his country its second wrestling bronze of the day by beating Vladimer Gegeshidze of Georgia 3-1.
