Police disperse protestors outside Madonna gig venue

Gay activists are staging lone pickets outside the Petersburgsky Sports and Concert Complex in St. Petersburg where Madonna is due to perform on Thursday night, an Interfax correspondent said.

Picketers representing the LGBT community were alternately holding a placard which reads "I do not care about Madonna and her support." Then they were approached by the police for document check.

Thousands of fans are queuing outside the concert hall, everyone seems to be in good humor in spite of bad weather. The concert has not started yet. Some concert goers were given pink, yellow and green bracelets, which organizers said signify their placing in the concert hall and not a support for sex minorities.
