Russian national team sets one-day medal-wins record at London Olympics

The Russian national team has set a London Olympics record, winning the largest number of medals in a day.

Russian athletes won 14 medals on Saturday, including six gold, four silver and four bronze medals.

The six gold-medal trophy in a day had only been won by the United States and Britain. But American athletes' gold trophy went together with only one silver and one bronze medal on August 2. The British team on August 4 won six gold medals, plus only one silver medal.
