Vice Premier and head of the Russian Cabinet staff Vladislav Surkov has been placed in charge of the government's relations with religious organizations.
Corresponding changes in the distribution of duties between deputies to the prime minister were approved by Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev on August 10, Interfax was told.
Previously Vice Premier Olga Golodets was in charge of coordinating contacts between executive bodies and religious organizations.
