President Vladimir Putin is "satisfied" with the work done to organize a summit of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation forum on Russky Island.
"The president has given the highest grades to the facilities built, saying that a large city has been built quickly in a place where only wildlife animal tracks and barracks could be seen before," Putin's press secretary Dmitry Peskov said in answer to a question from Interfax.
"Besides the international effect sought, the APEC summit will make an entire city available to local residents. A real step has been made to even the misbalance in the economic development of Russia's Far East region," he said.
"The island is home to Russia's best and most advanced student campus. The university buildings are good for receiving a higher education and for doing research," Peskov said.
