Moscow is determined to send the necessary documents to Washington to secure the transfer to Russia of Viktor Bout and Konstantin Yaroshenko, who are serving prison terms in the U.S., Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said during talks with U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton at an APEC summit on Russky Island off Vladivostok on Saturday.
"We pointed to the remaining complaints about the conditions in which Russian citizens Bout and Yaroshenko are being held and reaffirmed that we are taking steps to employ the existing legal norms to have our citizens transferred to Russia," Lavrov said at a press conference following talks with Clinton.
He did not specify when such documents can be completed.
"A legal process is under way, and it is taking quite a long time, as any judicial procedure, but the process is under way," he said.
