Rogozin denies systemic crisis in space sector

Vice Premier Dmitry Rogozin is sure that the latest rocket and satellite failures are not a manifestation of a crisis in the rocket and space sector.

"We don't have any systemic crisis in the rocket and space industry. Nothing is collapsing. We have problems at individual facilities and with certain components," he said at the end of a conference at TsSKB-Progress design and production association in Samara on Friday.

He said the government and leadership of the rocket and space industry are making efforts to resolve the arising problems within the shortest possible time. This applies primarily to the technological backwardness of rocket production and HR problems.

Rogozin stressed that this applies to only individual enterprises, "but not the industry as a whole."

He also said that after the series of space accidents the heads of many rocket and space companies "strongly desire to regain their reputation."
