Russia hopes Georgia will not organize provocations in South Ossetia and Abkhazia in the pre-election period.
"There have been numerous reports about the strengthening of the Georgian military presence along the border with South Ossetia," Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Grigory Karasin told Interfax on Thursday.
"We are prepared for anything but we still hope the common sense will win in Tbilisi," he said.
"We would like everything to be calm. At least, I am confident that neither Abkhazia nor South Ossetia is planning anything," Karasin said.
