Over $1.2 billion in funding drawn to Sochi Olympics from partners

The Sochi-2014 Organizing Committee noncommercial organization has drawn $1.2 billion in funding from partners of the Olympic Games, Organizing Committee President Dmitry Chernyshenko said at a forum in Sochi.

The Games are mostly financed from off-budget sources, he said. Our partners' investment - we see this partnership as a source of investment in the games - has topped $1.2 billion already, which is an absolute record," he said.

The Sochi-2014 project is Number One, the "flagship" project which cooperates with leading companies in their sectors, he said.
