Moscow hosted the 7th All-Russia Science Festival last weekend. This year hundreds of activities were held in about 80 Moscow's places as well as in 33 other Russian cities.
The Festival of Science is intended to acquaint visitors with the successes of science – both within Russia and throughout the world – and to help them learn in a hands-on way what is happening on the front lines of scientific research. Here it possible to meet with outstanding scientists who can clearly describe their work to a wide audience.
In 2006 the first Festival was visited by about 20,000 people during three days; the fifth took place in 14 regions of Russia and attracted more than 250,000 visitors in Moscow alone. This year the organizers hope to multiply the results.
