The baby of the Russian woman killed in Norway will be given to his grandmother and aunt, Russian presidential ombudsman on children's rights Pavel Astakhov said.
"Russia and Norway have reached an agreement with help from the Russian Foreign Ministry that the grandmother and aunt of 11-month-old Zacharia-Vitaly will get custody," Astakhov said on Twitter on Wednesday.
Astakhov said an agreement has been reached with the Norwegian and Swedish child protective services to give the baby to his grandmother, the mother of the baby's mother, who is a citizen of Russia.
Russian citizen Anna Medvedeva, 27, who was registered to live in Murmansk, was killed in Norway on October 14.
Medvedeva's boyfriend Michael Svantesson, a citizen of Sweden, who lives permanently in Norway, left with their 11-month-old child Zacharia-Vitaly Svantesson. He was detained in Sweden on October 15.
The child has been handed over to the Swedish child protective services.
