The European Commission regrets Russia's decision to put an end to a visa moratorium and start applying the visa obligation for civilian aircrew members of certain EU member-states.
"This runs against the spirit in which the Visa Facilitation Agreement is being re-negotiated, as agreement has already been reached on a reciprocal visa waiver for civilian aircrew members," European Commission Spokesperson Michele Cercone told Interfax in Brussels on Wednesday.
"The Commission prefers to see the problem solved in a constructive way rather than by introducing reciprocal measures on the EU side," he said.
