Head of the Kremlin administration Sergei Ivanov thinks that Acting Moscow region Governor Andrei Vorobyov has good chances of winning the 2013 election.
"I think the chances are good. He is young, energetic but with solid experience," Ivanov said to journalists on Friday.
He introduced Vorobyov to the Moscow region government as the acting governor and expressed confidence that Vorobyov would carry on the development plans mapped out by his predecessor Sergei Shoigu.
Ivanov also expressed hope that the Moscow region, which is an important and complex territory, would carry out the tasks put forward by the acting government. "People will see that there is progress, that the Moscow region will develop step by step," he said.
He said the regional leadership will have to tackle social, housing, transportation and migration problems.
