Following investigations in 2008-12 into the spending of state funds provided for construction projects related to the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit in Vladivostok and as part of the program for the socioeconomic development of the Far East and the Trans-Baikal Region, the Audit Chamber has uncovered that over 15 billion rubles in federal funding has been misspent.
The Audit Chamber's senior officials discussed the results of the investigation on Friday with the Primorye regional administration and with officials from the Regional Development Ministry's Far East Directorate and the Federal Road Construction Agency's Directorate for Construction Projects in Vladivostok as an International Cooperation Center in the Asia-Pacific Region, the Audit Chamber said in a press release.
The 689.6 billion rubles in federal funding provided for these purposes correspond to the parameters of the program and 99.1% of the investment has been spent, the Audit Chamber said.
