Russian ambassador Sergei Kislyak, philanthropist Susan Lehrman and sculptor Grigory Pototsky unveiled a monument to 19th century Russian classic writer Leo Tolstoy on the campus of American University in Washington, D.C. “Leo Tolstoy was a genius and was already recognized as such during his lifetime. I’m glad that students walking by will have a chance to become acquainted with him. Tolstoy studied human beings, the human soul, and this remains relevant to everybody today,” said Kislyak at the opening ceremony.
