Russian Defense Minister Gen. Sergei Shoigu is due to leave for China, where the 17th session of the two countries' Joint Commission for Military-Technological Cooperation will be held on Nov. 20-21.
"At the commission's session, the sides plan to discuss the results of military-technological cooperation between Russia and China in the previous period and determine the priorities of its further development," the defense minister's press secretary Darya Zatulina told Interfax-AVN.
It will be Shoigu's first trip abroad in his new capacity, she said.
During the visit, the Russian minister also plans to meet with China's political leaders and military officials.
The commission, which was formed in 1992, last met in Moscow on September 23, 2011. Moscow and Beijing have been taking turns at hosting its sessions.
