The list of banned resources includes some YouTube pages that may carry objectionable information, not the YouTube server as a whole, Vladimir Pikov, spokesman for the mass media oversight service Roskomnadzor, told Interfax.
"The list includes a YouTube page that carries banned information, not the large YouTube server. A notification has been sent to the administration of this resource, requesting that the objectionable information be removed," he said.
He said access to the YouTube website may only be limited if the Web site administration does not respond to the warning and if the objectionable content is not removed and remains accessible.
"We are working with YouTube intensively. It always responds to our warnings. The large YouTube server may find itself on the register if it does not react to our warning. Then its IP address will be entered on the register," he said.
Reports said earlier that at the demand of the consumer rights watchdog Rospoterbnadzor YouTube video hosting has been entered on the register of domain names with banned content.
