Organizers of illegal actions in Moscow will not avoid responsibility - police

Organizers of the Dec. 15 march will be punished with the utmost rigor of the law if they hold an unpermitted action, a high-ranking source in law enforcement agencies told Interfax.

"We fully support the position of the Moscow city administration, which has offered different options to the Dec. 15 march organizers pursuant to the procedures," he said.

"We still hope the action organizers will come to their senses, but we also want to warn them that in case of an attempt to hold unpermitted actions, such as disturbances, on Dec. 15, the law enforcement agencies will have no problem with gathering evidence, including evidence of the actually fraudulent fundraising for the allegedly peaceful action via open payment systems," the source stressed.

"If attempts of illegal actions are made with possible serious negative consequences, none of the organizers and participants will avoid responsibility," he warned.

The opposition action's organizers continue to negotiate the Freedom March of Dec. 15 with the Moscow city administration. The negotiations have been unsuccessful so far.
