“Zhemchuzhinka” delights Delhi audience

A magical performance of “Zhemchuzhinka” (The Perl) from Orenburg, by participants of the Seventh Himalayan Expedition, mesmerised the Delhi audience at the Russian Centre of Science and Culture (RCSC) on October 19, 2015.

The performance of Zhemchuzhinka” (The Perl), jointly organised by the Cultural group “Dostoyanie,” jointly with the Russian Embassy and Office of the ROSSOTRUDNICHESTVO, mesmerised the audience at the RCSC in the Indian capital on Monday.        

This folk and modern dance concert by the Ensemble, organised for the Festival of Russian Culture and Art, was dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the RCSC and the 90th anniversary of Public Diplomacy.

A Batic Exhibition by Winners of the Children’s Painting group was also organised at the RCSC for the occasion. Having also performed at the Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi, for the International Cultural Festival; Rendezvous-2015, on October 18, the ensemble will perform at Kullu, Naggar, and Mumbai before leaving for Moscow.

The audience at the RCSC comprised diplomats, educationists, students, artists, social activists and media persons. They included Major Dalbir Singh, Secretary, All-Indian Congress Committee, Prof. Ramadhikari Kumar, President, INDAPRYAL, Prof. Sankar Basu, President, IAASAI, Mr. Sergey Karmalito, Senior Counsellor, Russian Embassy, Mr. Fedor Rozovskiy, Director, RCSC, Ms Nana M. Mgeladze, Counsellor, Russian Embassy, among others.         

Live Earth, Butterfly, Love Sleep, Two Roses, Two Destinies, Queen, Dance is our Heart, Fire and Water, Traditional Dance with Russian Orenburg’s Shawls, Quadrille and Kalinka attracted most appreciation and applause.

The saxophone recital by Anton Gusev and Russian folk songs by Anastasia Ermachkova also thrilled the audience.

After the performance Olga Morozova, founder and choreographer of the dance group, and the artists and President of “Dostoyanie,” Natalia Pivovarova, were felicitated by Singh, Karmalito and Rozovskiy.

“Zhemchuzhinka” (The Perl) now is the visiting card of the Orenburg State University. In 1987, the small sand grain turned into a brilliant and talented Perl. A Laureate of the International and All-Russia competitions, which has performed in Denmark, the USA, Turkey, Bulgaria, Germany and the Czech Republic, “Zhemchuzhinka” participated of cultural programme of the Water Sports World Championship-2015 and of the International Multi-Sport event Universiade-2013 in Kazan City. Olga Morozova is the founder-artistic-director and ballet choreographer of the dance group for over 28 years.
