International Economic Forum of CIS Member States to be Held in Moscow

On March 15, the Business Center for CIS Economic Development with the assistance of the CIS Executive Committee and the Finance and Banking Council will hold the International Economic Forum of CIS Member States. The main topic will be “Present challenges and prospects for integration within the CIS.” The Forum will take place together with a regular session of CIS Economic Council.

The main goals of the Forum will be to discuss the perspectives of further economic cooperation and implementation of the CIS Free Trade Agreement and coordination within the scope of the Common Economic Space.

The Forum program includes plenary sessions, specialized round tables, an innovative projects exhibition and the following thematic sections: free trade zone; common economic space; WTO membership as a step toward integration into the world economy; investments, innovations – the real economy; industry, agriculture, medicine, etc.

The Forum has proved to be an effective platform for exchanging experience and constructive cooperation between specialists of different sectors and CIS governments. Traditionally more than 1500 business leaders, notably, the heads of business entities, banking unions and associations and investment companies of CIS member states, participate in the Forum.

The plenary session will feature speeches by: First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Shuvalov I.I., President and Chairman of the Management Board of VTB Bank Kostin A.L., Chairman of the Management Board of the Eurasian Development Bank Finogenov I.V., Collegium Member (Minister) of Commerce of Eurasian Economic Council Slepnyov A.A. and others.

The CIS Business Leader and CIS Economic Integration Leader awards will be presented at the Forum.
