Moscow International Education Fair

The Moscow International Education Fair, organized by the Ministry of Education and Science of the RF, will be held in Pavilion 75 at VDNH in Moscow, on April 13-16, 2016. New Educational Architecture is this year’s topic.

The Moscow International Education Fair is an annual open forum dedicated to exchanging experience gained in the many aspects of the Russian and global education system as well as methods for expanding the most successful professional pedagogical experience designed both for specialists and a wide audience. More than one thousand experts from across all educational levels and 400 exhibitors have been invited to participate in the MIEF. Over 40,000 visitors are expected to attend this year’s forum.

The primary goal of the Fair in 2016 is to present to the educational community effective tools for translating theory into practice and to facilitate expansion of the most successful methods and techniques. The participants of the MIEF-2016 Business program will discuss topical issues of present-day education including issues of engineering education renewal, marketing in education, project education, competences and skills of the 21st century, new pedagogical occupations, developing educational programs and design of educational spaces, in addition to online education and gaming formats in education. The best practices will be shared via brief inspiring lectures, workshops and case presentations for teachers and directors of educational institutions. More than 200 events in total are scheduled for the MIEF-2016 Business program.  

The following leading experts contributed to the elaboration of the MIEF-2016 Business program: Isak Froumin, Academic Advisor at the Higher School of Economics Institute of Education; Vitaly Kurennoy, Head of the School of Cultural Studies, Faculty of Humanities, Head of the Laboratory for Cultural Studies, Centre for Fundamental Studies; Igor Remorenko, Rector of Moscow City Teacher Training University; Dmitry Zemtsov, Head of the Educational Programs Directorate of Moscow State University of Mechanical Engineering (MAMI); Vassilios Fthenakis, President of Didacta Association; Jean-Marc Roirant, Secretary General of the Educational League of France; Debbie French, Portfolio Director of BETT Education Show and others. 

The ambitious Invent Your Future program will be held on the fourth day of the MIEF. The program is designed for a wide audience of visitors: school children, students and their parents. The Open Program events include presentations of extended education projects, Doors Open Days in leading higher educational institutions of Russia, master classes, quests and play grounds for children, demo lessons from the best Moscow studios as well as lectures and consultations in the School for Parents project. The Professions of the Future platform will become an entirely separate block. This platform is dedicated to career guidance and the study of new trends in the labour market: future experts will receive assistance in finding what occupations will be in demand in the years to come, in the context of developing technologies.

According to the initiator of the Moscow International Education Fair, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the RF, Veniamin Kaganov, the forum will be interesting to the widest audience: “Along with a traditionally strong and diverse business program including a considerable segment of international participation for a professional audience, the Fair provides an exciting program for parents with children: the Professions of the Future open platform will operate throughout the event, while on Saturday, visitors can receive information about the best clubs and summer educational vacations and also attend Doors Open Days in leading higher educational institutions, the School for Parents and other events.

The MIEF exposition will offer the most challenging sectors from the global educational process in the following clusters: Captains of Industry, Education without Borders, The Country of Universities, Career Guidance, Technologies for Education, Preschool Education, Extended Education, The Fifth Term and Inclusion.
