Apple to open internet store in Russia

Apple is planning on launching internet sales of its products directly to consumers and distributors this summer or fall. Mobile communications retailer Svyaznoy has already signed a contract with the company.

The move is likely to hit Apple’s official distributors in Russia (Dihaus, Marvel Distribution and OCS) and could take up to 50 percent of their business. It may also reduce the size of the market for fake Apple products experts predicted.
