The Krasnoyarsk Economic Forum, one of Siberia’s largest investment venues, kicked off today with local businesspeople pledging to sign an anti-corruption charter.
The Forum’s organization committee commented in a statement: “The essence of the document concerns implementing special anticorruption programs and practices that will affect not only the situation within companies, but their relations with business partners and government. The charter foresees a rejection of preferential treatment, purchases on the basis of transparent tenders, financial control, education, work with personnel and law enforcement officials.”
Last year’s forum involved representatives from 28 countries and over $17 billion of deals.
