The fair is being organized by Mikhail Prokhorov together with the Krasnoyarsk Territory regional government and the Administration of the city of Krasnoyarsk. The fair will feature the very best of Russian publishing and a rich cultural program.
The theme of this year’s fair is “A city where everything is possible”.
The 8th annual fair’s program is dedicated to the problem of reclaiming urban spaces. As always, it will include numerous professional and cultural events: public lectures on “An Open School for City Changes”; a presentation of Leonid Parfyonov’s new book series Recently: Our Era and film Color of a Nation; a festival of contemporary music from Siberian cities; a concert by the Russian National Orchestra under the direction of Mikhail Pletenev; a large children’s program with theatrical events; the traditional jury debates for the “NOS” prize; a museum night; and over 200 publishers with their newest releases.
Among the guests at this year’s fair will be authors and poets from Russia, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, Norway, and Sweden, as well as German artists and an Israeli contemporary dance company. The professional program for journalists has been significantly expanded, and the library program will be open to the public for the first time ever. Exhibition projects will fill the fair’s halls, while various programs will take place simultaneously in other venues.
This year, the book fair has been definitively transformed into an open city space full of events, ideas, and opportunities.
