The photo exhibition "Divertissements: From Anna Pavlova to Svetlana Zakharova" presents a unique collection of TASS archival photographs, featuring leading Soviet and Russian ballet dancers from early XX century until today: Anna Pavlova, Vaslav Nijinsky, Galina Ulanova, Maya Plisetskaya, Yury Grigorovich, Svetlana Zakharova, Alexei Ratmansky, Ulyana Lopatkina, Nikolay Tsiskaridze, Diana Vishneva, and others. TASS historic photographs capture the work and legacy of the renowned dancers during their long, tireless rehearsals, live performances, and moments of triumph.

Maya Plisetskaya graces the headline image of the exhibit, with her toned frame and rippling costume frozen in motion. Plisetskaya’s legacy of international stardom while maintaining an authentically soviet polish was not lost on the organizers. “The image of Maya Plisetskaya has been selected as the centerpiece of this exhibit, as her name strongly represents Russian ballet tradition abroad,”- explains Sergei Mikhailov, the General Director of TASS. Adherence to traditions and continuity of generations have always been the distinctive elements of Russian ballet school.

The exhibition is showcased at the National Arts Club as part of the 15th Annual Russian Heritage Month, presented by the Russian American Foundation in collaboration with the New York Post.
