Russian federal authorities will be involved in mobilization training

Structural units of the Russian Telecom and Mass Communications, Finance and Industry and Trade Ministries, the Federal Agency for State Reserves and the Central Bank will be involved in mobilization training, the Defense Ministry’s press office said.

The mobilization training will be held as part of a sudden combat readiness check of the Russian Armed Forces, the press office added.

"Regional executive authorities will coordinate and supervise the process of putting the economy on a wartime footing and support mobilization and territorial defense in their areas of responsibility," the press office said.

During the snap combat readiness check, reservists will be recalled to take part in maneuvers, undergo intensive all-arms training, improve their skills in line with their military occupational specialties and practice cohesion within units.

Field establishments of the Central Bank will be involved in the sudden combat readiness check to finance units that will be far away from their permanent bases.

There are plans to check the readiness of a number of defense contractors in south Russia to deliver military and special hardware to task forces and repair it.

In accordance with the presidential decree "On Establishing a Personnel Reserve of the Russian Armed Forces" dated July 17, 2015, a new system to train and accumulate personnel resources for mobilization is being implemented.

The new system aims to assign skilled reserved personnel to the Armed Forces in proper time in case of mobilization and in crisis situations, the press office added.
