On May 29, Russia Beyond the Headlines will present its special supplement "Voices of Read Russia" at BookExpo America in New York. The event will coincide with the release of the updated Voices of Read Russia app for tablets (available online at  AppStore and Android Market).

The second volume of the app offers interactive navigation, podcasts, interactive illustrations and other multimedia content along with the articles that shed light on the lives of contemporary writers, reexamine Russia’s literary heritage and take a closer look at the 20th century stars only now shining brightly, analyze the features of the contemporary book market and much more.

Women writers are among the most exciting trends that "Voices of Read Russia" explores; they have conquered Russia’s literary Olympus in terms of acclaim and readership like never before and no wonder they do deserve attention. Other topics covered by "Voices of Read Russia" are just as captivating, be it philosophic New Light on Poetry or thrilling Generations of Conflict, inspiring Prize Winners or fabulous Émigré writers.

The app proves that exploring literature can be real fun: just test the interactive map that allows to wander through the spectacular Magical Kingdom and meet there the most colorful characters of the Russian fairy tales, or follow the simple two-step guide that will give you a personal recommendation on what contemporary Russian book you want to read at the moment – even if you don't know it exists.
