Pripyat: poste restante

Twenty-five years have gone by since the Chernobyl disaster, which killed thousands of people in its immediate aftermath and in the years that followed.



 

Pripyat, once considered a showpiece Soviet city, was abandoned as its inhabitants left behind homes, cars and most of their personal possessions. 

RT’s correspondent Aleksey Yaroshevsky has visited the site of the tragedy to unravel a mysterious case: it seems that someone has been sending notices with request to come and pick up letters from the post office of this deserted town…
