The annual Empty Hills music festival rocked the town of Yukhnov from Jun. 9-13.
For eight years in a row, music lovers have come to this village 250 km from Moscow for a weekend of rock, nature, mosquitoes and conversation. Five years ago, the festival attracted 1,000 spectators; this year, the number of attendees topped 50,000. Observers estimate that by 2015, the number may reach 500,000 – and the hills won't be empty any more.
