Peter and Paul Fortress towers above Russia’s northern capital, St. Petersburg – the golden steeple very recognizable above the city. The melody its chimes plays is always on time, and the clock is never a second late.
Each day at 10 am, the clock keeper Andrey is up on the belfry to make sure all the clock’s parts are in working order. A cannon fires simultaneously when the clock strikes 12 to inform the city’s citizens that noon has arrived.
