"Rock & Roll In Russian" (MUSIC VIDEO)

"Rock & Roll In Russian" was created between the two rising star artists, one from Russia who wrote the music and the other from the U.S. The video was shown at the opening of the Russian Cultural Center in Memphis.

On Jan. 14, Memphis, Tennessee celebrated its first annual Russian Federation Day. The event coincided with the grand opening of the city’s Russian Cultural Center. The organizers of the center hope it will be a home away from home for Russians in the area and also a place local students can learn about Russia.

The event also featured a special premier of a music video, tentatively called "Sasha From Russia," filmed in Memphis last year. The video was made by New World Connection, in cooperation with I.P. Tarnovskaya, a joint Russian-American musical project.  The video stars Denis Mazhukov and Josh Threlkeld. It was filmed by Justin Gullett.

Lyrics:

There is a sweet little girl

Swayin with the breeze

Walkin by the river on the edge of Tennessee I ask her and I’m blushin
She says her name is Sasha
I wish that I spoke Russian
Yes I do.

Well I was feelin the blues
Her ribbon, ruby red
long blonde hair and bright blue eyes shinin as she said

that her name is Sasha
It’s just way too mucha
My heart beats from my chest
When I hear you say “privet”
What’s that?!

I wanna move ya to Memphis
Or I could cross the sea
I could build me a bridge to ya babe

You could be my sweet Delta Queen.

Well any real southern man
Knows what’s on my mind
So I took her by the hand, said “We ain’t wastin no more time.”

We heard some old time Gospel,
and got a taste of Bar-B-Que
Rock and Roll in English works the same in Russian too!

There is a sweet little girl
Swayin with the breeze
Walkin by the river on the edge of Tennessee
We heard some old time Gospel,
and got a taste of Bar-B-Que
Rock and Roll in English works the same in Russian too!
