Without Putin, the show goes on


Given the proliferation of modern telecommunication technologies, it would be reasonable to expect that world leaders would be less inclined to travel to remote places for live meetings with their peers, and yet the intensity of international summitry shows no signs of abating. Apparently the heads of states and governments still appreciate the value of face-to-face interactions, a chance to hang out with an ally or look into the soul of an adversary.
