Russian companies dropped from sell-off plans

The government’s privatisation programme suffered a blow last week when President Vladimir Putin announced that Russian energy companies would be withdrawn from the sale because of market conditions. Vladimir Putin’s new government will make its much-lauded $30 billion privatization program a top priority when a new cabinet is formed.
