Celebration of Russian Air force 100th anniversary shaked the sky


The Russian Air Force turned 100 on August 12th and celebrations had started on Friday. An air show was launched in Zhukovsky, outside Moscow.


The three-day show saw pilots pulling off aerial stuntwork in more than a hundred aircraft, including first and second world war era planes. The fliers were not only be from Russia, however.

Display teams from the UK, France, Finland, Turkey, Poland and others took part. The Russian airforce was established in 1912 during the rule of Tsar Nicholas Second when the country’s Defence department created an air division within the General Staff.
