Folk box: Altai-Kai

Today we are going to be listening to some truly mystical harmonies. What is this – folklore, or the art of super-lofty professionals?

Guttural, or throat singing – something that is most certainly above, and, seemingly, beyond human possibilities. Something that hypnotizes, amazes, drives you crazy, as was the case yet again with all those who managed to attend this summer a concert of the festival “Universe of Sound”, held by Moscow Conservatory… At the Moscow concert, the incredibly popular ensemble Altai-kai demonstrated the unique culture of the Altai people, intriguing and somewhat mystical inhabitants of the distant regions of Altai, in the south of Siberia.
