German Sterligov, Orthodox Environmentalist

German Sterligov was one of the first Russian billionaires. He has lost his fortune collapsing in the election campaign of 2000, when he ran for the presidency. Afterwards he has reinvented himself and moved with his family to the countryside to live in a traditional Orthodox style insisting on the hypothesis that science and scientists provoke environmental degradation.

German and his family produce all the products they consume, work the land and raise livestock. His wife and 5 children are used to life without television and internet. A water pump is the only technological device they use every day.

Now Sterligov is back to the big politics with a project of an "international environmental tribunal" intended to ensure worldwide compliance with the new eco-legislation.
