Song: "Galaxy"
Lyrics and music: Jenia Lubich
Jenia Lubich, the St. Petersburg singer who has penned more than 300 songs in her time, is currently a member of the French music project Nouvelle Vague, perhaps the most famous cover band in the world. The Nouvelle Vague modus operandi is to re-imagine Punk Revolution and “New Wave” classics in the style of Bossanova and Lounge.
Jenia began her career as an opera singer, performing arias on tours across Russia, Finland and Hungary. She gradually moved away from opera in the early 2000s, however, and began to focus on writing and performing her own material. She was soon noticed in her homeland by producers and publishers of lounge music. In 2006, she won her first song contest, called Baltic Stars, and went on to represent Russia in the World Championships of Performing Arts in the United States the following year, where she earned two bronze medals for her performances.
In the spring of 2008, Jenia gave her demo tape to Nouvelle Vague producer Marc Collin. The group was performing in St. Petersburg at the time. Collin was impressed with Jenia’s voice, and he asked her to join the group. Jenia’s voice can be heard on two tracks on the band’s third album. She began recording her first solo album in Paris in 2009, while still on tour with Nouvelle Vague. The album features songs in French, English and Russian. Although she is still working on the album, Jenia has released a maxi-single with five songs on it: “Chernoe” (“Black”), “Khrisantemy” (“Chrysanthemums”), “Galaktika” (“Galaxy”), “Le Blanc Danse” (“White Dance”) and “Russian Girl”. Musicians Marc Collin, Olivier Libaux, Thibault Barbillon, Bruno Ralle, Jean-Pierre Bottiau and rising star on the French music scene, Nicolas Comment, all contributed to the recordings.

Song's lyrics:
The white snow outside was falling, it brushed the darkness away,
and then you'll come by, for a minute; it seems
that I'm loosing the ground under my feet every time I look at you,
and in your eyes I can find an infinite universe.
Chorus:
From another galaxy,
From the waters of the Antarctic
You are abandoning me now,
Without changing the tactic.
Why do you float away
So easily and so far?
Please, wait, don't rush, hug me, look,
just look, can't you see, I still love you.
A love enough for both, we can drown in it totally.
Tell me, won't you? What's wrong now? Respond at least somehow.
Chorus:
From another galaxy,
From the waters of the Antarctic
You are abandoning me now,
Without changing the tactic.
Why do you float away
So easily and so far?
Cold, too cold, I'm shivering, I'm barely breathing, I'm begging,
Just say yes, allow me to warm you, can't you hear me?
You're silent, but who needs words, anyway; I'm silent, but it's time for you to go...
It's a pity that again, we couldn't keep the silence till morning.
Chorus:
From another galaxy,
From the waters of the Antarctic
You are abandoning me now,
Without changing the tactic.
Why do you float away
So easily and so far?
