Each week Olga Shapovalova offers to folk music lovers a multicoloured display of customs and traditions, legends and tales, melodies and rythms of Russia.
What would you say to spending the following half hour playing? After all, we all have moments when we feel tempted to set aside all cares and worries of the adult world and join the youngsters in their carefree amusements! And if I add that these are traditional folk games for any folklore fan that works like a charm. Children’s folklore these days is a rarity that is priceless, so one mustn’t miss an opportunity to listen to it!
We are super-lucky, since we have just such an opportunity as we are now heading for the chamber hall of Moscow’s Philharmonic society, which has been hosting special children’s folklore concerts for several years now. They are put together by folklorist Yelena Zaitseva.
