GDR is a Russian (and Russian language) rock group at the intersection of indie rock, power pop, and post punk.
The group was founded in Moscow by vocalist Alexander Andreev, bassist Grigory Mashtalir, and drummer Vladimir Tkachev. They quickly achieved recognition thanks to the support of Russian radio stations that began to rotate GDR’s songs on a permanent basis. Some songs climbed up the "Hit Parade of Two Capitals" chart, including "A Friend from Holland," which reached number one.
The group debut album "IQ" was released by the label REAL Records in 2006. It reportedly attracted the interest of producers from larger labels, but no new contracts were signed. It was followed up by the heavier-sounding "Farewell to Arms," which critics largely dismissed. In 2010, the group parted company with its label and independently released the album "We Are Disconnected."
LYRICS:
Hello Jonathan, how many years and how many winters
Gloomy London eternal Rome, gloomy London eternal Rome
Raised, were we with you
And carried over his head, and carried over his head
Listen to Jonathan, can, sit back, just sit back
Jonathan, quiet, quiet
A Friend Of Jonathan
A Friend Of Jonathan
You know, Jonathan, and I could really old
And you're too old bitch, a real superstar
It is a gift, stir in the hearts of fire
Roaring mad guitars, the roar of big guitars
Listen to Jonathan, can, sit back, just sit back
Jonathan, quiet, quiet
A Friend Of Jonathan
A Friend Of Jonathan
A Friend Of Jonathan
A Friend Of Jonathan
A Friend Of Jonathan
A Friend Of Jonathan
